Love is in the air

Valentines can be a tricky day. Hyped up with ideas and photos every where you look, the expectation to make it the perfect day can be overwhelming and a bit of a headache (and no one wants that… unless it’s your excuse for the bedroom)! So whether you’re celebrating with or without someone this on February 14th, make sure it’s filled with love!

Takeaway with a twist
To me, there’s nothing romantic about being in a busy and loud restaurant. Order a take away and rather than eating on the sofa as usual, set the table with all the extra trimmings. Light some candles, set out the full place settings, put on some music and pour yourselves a drink! 

Forget the expensive gifts
Rather than spending money that you don’t have, on gifts you don’t need, write a love letter or little notes to each other. You can either read them out loud over breakfast in bed or dinner or just to yourself. Trust me, you’ll remember that longer than what someone bought you. 

Go get some fresh air
Pack yourself a lunch and go on a walking date. You could head to a national park or just take a walk round the outside of your local town. If physical touch is one of your love languages, why not hold hands the whole way round.

Self Love

Grab your favourite read and treat yourself to brunch. If readings not your thing, take some headphones and watch a film or just people watch. Hey, maybe even order yourself a glass of wine. It’s valentines day!

Pamper the day away
Stay in your comfies, run yourself a bubble bath (finally use that bath bomb you’ve been saving for a special occasion), put on a face mask, stay in bed, watch reruns of your favourite housewives. If you’ve got a bit of extra cash, why not book yourself in for a massage or manicure/pedicure. What ever pamper means to you, do it!

Who says you need to be in a relationship to make valentines day romantic and sexual? Order yourself a fancy lingerie set or treat yourself to a toy you’ve wanted to buy/try for ages and have a good time.
